TAKORI WANTS SENATOR YARIMA TO GIVE UP SEAT

From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

Former Legal Adviser to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara State, Barrister Sani Muhammad Takori, who recently resigned his position has called on Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima to give up the seat for him to contest for the forthcoming general elections.

Barrister Takori, who claimed that it is his turn coming from Gummi local government area after eight years of Yarima’s tenure from Bakura local government at the Senate, adding that the former governor should reciprocate the solidarity done to him having occupied the seat that was supposed to have been contested by the Barrister Takori since 2007.

He said that he has already served the Senator with a request letter demanding him to withdraw his interest to re-contest for the seat at the senate if any, considering what people of Gummi local government area had done when they resolved to allow him to go to the national assembly, which Takori said was in order to avoid the lost of his political relevance in the state then.

Takori further lamented that the embattled Senator did not treat Gummi local government area as constitutionally deserved even when he was the governor for eight years, during which he awarded a road construction from Mayanci to terminate at Anka local government area about a hundred kilometres before Gummi.

“An allocation for the establishment of a Federal Government College at Gummi local government area was provided when Yarima was a governor, but again, he diverted it to Anka.

Also a senatorial zonal office which was situated in Gummi, was moved to Anka too, and the worst part of the story was that, despite number of disasters that occurred in the area, not a single time he visited to sympathize with the victims”, Takori decried.

He warned that, if the incumbent Senator decline to give up the seat, he and the concerned people of Gummi local government area may defect to another party to ensure the candidacy for the Senate seat comes to their side this time around.
